세븐 피라미드는 제가 기자 여행 시에 자주 찾는 호텔인데요.

기자에서의 숙박은 여행의 질을 크게 좌우해요.

“Don’t be fooled. 속지마세요”

“The only service included in the voucher that actually works is breakfast.

At first, the hotel seemed promising—they kindly offered to store my luggage, and I even got a room upgrade, which I appreciated. (Later, after checking the prices a few times post-payment, I realized I had booked at a much higher rate than the average, so I thought, Maybe that’s why they gave me an upgrade.) However, two major issues arose:

1. Horse Riding Inquiry
I asked the hotel manager how much a horse-riding tour would cost. He said he needed to make a call to check, and after the call, he gave me a price that was much higher than I expected. When I told him I’d think about it, he suddenly got annoyed and said the horses were already on their way, asking why I was canceling after making a reservation. But I had only asked about the price—I never confirmed the booking. I didn’t want to ruin my trip, so I just let it go.

2. Airport Shuttle Issue
The hotel’s information and booking confirmation stated that they provide a pickup or drop-off service. When they asked me about it, I told them I needed a drop-off. However, on the day of checkout, as I was about to leave, they asked how I planned to pay for the shuttle—by cash or card.

I asked, Isn’t this included in the accommodation fee? The confirmation clearly states it is. The manager replied, I know it says that on Agoda, but “It’s not logic!” He then questioned me, Did your previous hotels provide a free airport shuttle? When I answered no, he smugly said, See? Why would we offer it for free?

Well, because your hotel advertised it as a free service! The reason I chose this hotel—despite its significantly higher price (three times more than the ones I stayed in before)—was precisely because of the included shuttle service.

At this point, I was running out of time to leave for the airport and asked how much they would charge. The manager said $20. I checked Uber, and the price was only $8–$9. I told him that $20 was unreasonable and that the service should be included as per the reservation details. Then he got even angrier, saying, Yesterday, you asked for horse riding and then canceled; now you’re canceling this too!

The whole situation was absurd. The atmosphere became very tense, and I started feeling unsafe.

3. Other Services Listed but Not Provided
The hotel listed several services, including a half-day excursion and a 5% discount on food and beverages, but none of these were actually available. I ordered pigeon roast for dinner, but it was poorly cooked and side dish was only patato. I left most of it uneaten.

Aside from the shuttle issue, the hotel never proactively asked me about any of the listed services, nor did I request anything additional.

Pros
Amazing view! The Sphinx is right in front of you, and the pyramids are clearly visible.
Safety: There are two layers of police checkpoints on the way to the hotel, which made me feel secure.
Clean rooms.
However, I stayed in a second-floor room, and the smell of horse manure was unbearable—so bad that it woke me up in the morning. I didn’t notice it as much from the rooftop, but during the early mornings and evenings (I think.. it’s time when no tours were running, horses rested nearby) making the smell overwhelming. I had a balcony, but I couldn’t use it because of the stench. I couldn’t even open the windows. (Maybe it’s just a second-floor issue?)

This is not the hotel’s fault, but rather a location issue. Keep this in mind before booking. However, if you want a perfect, unobstructed view of the Sphinx, this place does offer that.

처음에는 직원들이 친절했고, 짐도 보관해 준다고 해서 좋은 인상을 받았습니다. 방도 업그레이드를 받아서 기분이 좋았죠. (결제 후 몇 번 가격을 다시 검색해 보니, 제가 평균가보다 훨씬 비싸게 예약했다는 걸 알게 되었습니다. 그래서 업그레이드를 해줬나 보다…라고 생각했습니다.) 하지만 이후 두 가지 큰 문제가 발생했습니다.

1. 말타기 문의
말타기 투어 비용이 얼마인지 호텔 매니저에게 물어봤습니다. 그는 전화로 확인해 봐야 한다고 했고, 통화 후 알려준 가격이 예상보다 너무 비쌌습니다. 그래서 “한번 생각해 보겠다”고 하자, 갑자기 짜증을 내며 “이미 말이 오고 있다. 왜 예약해 놓고 취소하느냐”고 따졌습니다. 저는 단순히 가격만 물어봤을”
